Cold But Wet

Recent rains have done in the snow. Listing, headless Frosty looks as if he has a "oh, no" grasp on the hawthorn tree.
The ponds though still have several inches of ice on them. This morning's rain water turned the surface of the big pond into a mirror.
I threw huge rocks at what looks to be cracks but the rocks just skittered and splashed across the surface.
While I was out taking pictures, he-who-has-forgotten-his-name-when-accociated-with-"come", decided to follow some deer up into the woods. Trask was quite soaked and pleased with himself when I finally leashed him.
Chinooks won't signal their distress or where-abouts with a bark. They just sit quietly until you spot them. At this age, at that point, the game of "you can't catch me" is on. We both got an energizing hike up the ridge.
Trask after his bath. I love the zig-zag ridge of darker fur on his back.
Mean while down in sunny, warm, southern California, Alaka'i (Mt. Karuk) took a Best of Breed in his first AKC show.Way to Go Nari and Alaka'i.
