Happy Birthday Sweet Cedar

Today has been a extraordinary trip down memory lane as I gleaned through thousands of photos for this blog.
CH "PR" Moonsong Cedar River Touchdown, CGC, WSD was born December 9, 2006.  I went up to Seattle with a friend, Jackie to look at the Moonsong Quarterback litter of puppies. Jackie also owns McKenzie's sister.  Before our visit was over, Jackie committed to a girl she named Zita and I got Cedar.

When Jackie and I picked up our pups, both pups had pricked ears. We preferred down ears and thought as nurses we could figure out a way to reshape them before the cartilage permanently stiffened. A google search showed taping nickles to the ears to weight them over. Both Cedar and Zita wore their ear adornments for about a week and a half before we tired of looking for nickles throughout the yard.
Cedar grew up into a beautiful Chinook. At 4 1/2 years old she was judged to be the National Champion of Champions.
Cedar was also a wonderful mother to the BrownStone Iditarod litter.

Cedar has been a quiet adventurer. Over the years, we have hiked, backpacked, canoed, urban mushed, dog sledded, run around the property...together.

For the most part she in on the reserved side, but occasionally she gets down and dirty.
Sweet is the adjective everyone who meets Cedar uses.  Sweet and beautiful. I can't get enough of taking pictures of her. Here are some random ones I came across during my journey through the picture files.
You would not know it, but Cedar has to be bribed to take her picture. Other than the treats that come with it, she is not a fan of posing.
