Week 11 - Pupdate

I am beginning to wonder what takes more time, a litter of eight puppies that you can easily restrain with an x-pen or one puppy that has a need to test everything with his teeth and requires to be let out of a crate to "go". Somehow one puppy it is harder to get pictures of and find time to blog.
10/07 - One of the last times Trask could be confined to an x-pen. Even one secured to a very heavy patio heater.
10/11 - One might ask why we even bothered with the cover on the x-pen.
Ears are always a curiosity with Chinooks. You never know how they will sit until after teething is complete. Personally my favorite is helicopter with down hanging being my second choice. Most of the time Trask's right ear hangs forward and covers his eye while his left helicopters out. On Saturday, he came up with one set that hopefully does not stick.
Thanks to short-of-temper-at-having-her-tail-used-as-a-chew toy, McKenzie, Trask now has nose scars to match his mom. Koyuk also fell afoul with McKeznie at this age.
Tule Loowit and Trask had another play-date and lesson. This time we took them on a neighborhood walk to expose them to the noises and distractions of an urban environment. The primary distraction proved to be each other. Constantly untangling leashes was the order of the day.
 "No. We're going this way."
Trask and Tule got to meet kids, complete with scary helmets, on bikes; walk in the park with joggers and more bicyclists going by on the path;  meet neighbors; walk by houses with angry dogs behind fences; cross a very busy street; navigate storm drains; and get close enough to a skateboard park to startle but not frighten.
All that socializing was hard work for the puppies.
Thirsty but not worn out, they also got to run free in Tule's yard - even try out the trampoline. I was laughing too hard to get a picture, but just imagine Trask bouncing up and down on a trampoline while the treat he is chasing is also bouncing this way and that.
At the end of the day,  Trask shared his adventures with mom Koyuk.
