BrownStone Litter News

Crates

Life with puppies is still about crates. These guys suck up love and at times it feels so cruel to close them away in a crate.
Tule and Trask have a competition with crate training. Actually Trask is crate trained - I think. But four teething BrownStone dogs and 4 teething litters took a toll on my crates. None can support doors. Trask still has his crate attached to the x-pen in the living room. (I have ordered a really great crate for the bedroom so I can move off the couch). Once he figured out how to scale the x-pen grating, a top was added. Lot that helps. If Koyuk wants to play with her pup, she just opens the x-pen door latch..
When Trask is in my "no way will this ever be puppy proofed", office/sewing room, he hangs out in a wire crate. Within an hour both Trask and Koyuk figured the latch out from both inside and outside the crate. He is not left alone up here.
Bramble's family wrote: "So our little monkey pup can climb out of her pen...hence the attractive lattice top.  She can also climb up the drawer handles to reach the kitchen counter and any treats that may be up there.  She is working on opening the rubbermaid container that holds her food.  She also likes to bring us her water dish....even when it is full.
She also has learned "sit", "down" and "spin".   She is far too clever for her own good.  Her and Muku.continue to be best friends and wear each other out completely with all their playing.
Our dog trainer was very impressed with both her and Muku.....and wanted us to pass on a compliment to you about how well you raised little Bramble!"

Luca's family wrote: "Just wanted to give you a little update on our precious girl.  She is doing great and we can’t stop cuddling and kissing her.  What a sweetie.  She was amazing on the plane – slept almost the entire flight and never made a peep.  She has done well in her crate at night, and goes through only a brief whimpering spell before falling asleep.  She is happy and playful upon waking up, and to say she is a joy is an enormous understatement.  We love her to pieces and are looking forward to the next 12+ years with her"
Tule Loowit is getting better with her crate. This was caught by the 'nanny-cam' while her family was away.

General Cuteness

Alaka'i family sent a movie of him using the bell and doing his potty dance. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue how to put it on the blog. He is quite enthusiastic about his bell. His family wrote: "I'm proud to say Alaka'i started Puppy Preschool today and did FANTASTIC. Not only did he already know most of the cues (sit, come, attention) but also learned a new command (bed) well ahead of many of his classmates. Yaay! My last brag is that he was also the youngest there by a week! He was neither too forward nor fearful towards even the larger somewhat pushy puppies and responded very positively to every dog/person in the room! So very excited to keep moving forward with Amazing Alaka'i! I forgot to take pictures before his class. But since I mentioned it before, here's a little clip of the clever pup using the bell to go outside just before we headed out today! No accidents, going in to his crate on his own to nap, and consistent use of the bell for 2 days now!!! So proud of him and so blown away by his cleverness!!!"

Luca's family wrote: " Oh, and she now has a purple collar, leash and harness in honor of you and Karmin. When you said that you both love the color purple, we had to go with it.  As you know, she looks fabulous in purple.  ;)"
