September 30 Hallmarks

And I thought my life was busy with a litter of puppies. Activities related to getting ready for winter have prevented me from daily blogging.
September 30, 2004 saw the birth of the BrownStone Thanksgiving Litter.
We lost power and water for several days during their first week of life. The fireplace kept them warm and McKenzie kept them fed and clean.
The 13 day old pups got their first trip outside on the first non-raining day since they were whelped.
I really don't know what I was thinking to actually have a second litter in the winter. The great room doubled as the free-roaming pup area.
I made Christmas cards with each individual pup pulling a sled full of treats and toys.
Lolo went on to earn many confirmation titles and have two litters at Rain Mountain Chinooks
Tiki is still with us and is big sister to BrownStone Cascade Mt Pahto (Kyrik) from Koyuk's previous liter.
I believe Ali is still following along on daily horseback trail rides but do not have a recent picture of her.
Happy, what would be the, 13th Birthday to Kalama, Lolo, Ali, Tillamook, Rodian, and Hatshiput

September 30, 2017 saw the last BrownStone Chinook Centennial puppy go to his forever home.
BrownStone CHK Century Mt Wash (Washington) on his last morning in the whelping-condo.
My wonderful sister agreed to ride with me to PDX and guide me about the airport. Washington was her favorite pup from the get-go.
Amy getting to meet her pup after the flight from Denver.
While we were eating breakfast, Washington outed a "service" dog. This dog with his "service" harness was wandering freely about the airport with his owners oblivious to the fact that he was gone. He came over and played with Washington. A properly trained Service Dog would not have left his owner and never would have run over to interact, let alone play with another dog.
Washington quietly watching the airport activity.
Amy with Washington as they took off for the flight back to his forever home in Denver.
Post flight note: "We are home and settling in. He is PERFECT!! Not a peep or cry. Totally mellow and Nukka is happy."  ~Amy
