One Run - Two Climates

Yesterday afternoon the sun finally started to break through the thick fog as we headed out for our training run. The north side of the ridge is shaded in all but the summer months. The moss is beautiful and thick.

When you break over the ridge and down the south side, the climate is completely different. Enough so that the trees are mostly pines and oak rather than fir. With all the recent rains, the ground cover is starting to turn green.

This was Trask's first trip to the south side pond and first swim.

Cooled off, it was time to run back up and over the ridge.

There are three Chinooks in this picture but even with their "visibility" coats, they disappear into the verdant fog.
