Snow Mode

Nineteen degrees; two inches of granular snow; occasional showers of freezing rain; ten inches more of snow predicted; two non-functioning heat pumps; multiple loads of firewood stacked and ready; front and backdoor snow shovels in place; 16' ladder by kennel roof, 4' squeegee next to ladder; heater on in well-pump house; horizontal branch on oak tree supported; walks shoveled; bathtub full of emergency water; batteries in flashlights; candles ready; and a huge stock pot full of homemade chilli simmering on the wood stove. I am in snow mode - as are the dogs. They have taken full advantage of my outside chore time to chase around in the snow.

 "Let's play chase me!"
Trask was finally coaxed in and promptly took over the prime warm spot...
