Day 44, 45, 46 Chinook Centennial Litter Pup-date and Pup-nic

Preparation for, the party and crash. Human life around here is not much different than puppies - Play, Eat, Crash.
Day 44 was prep for party day. Tables and chairs were brought outside and everything was spiffed up a bit. Of course there was an interlude to watch the puppies eat.
I keep thinking Koyuk is going to wean the little sharks but even after gulping down her meal, she insists on eating their food knowing they will take advantage of the milkbar within reach.
They are just too funny to watch as they jockey for the last sip.
Byrd stayed in the feeding trough a bit longer and rushed to catch up with the others.
 Poor Koyuk.
K. helped clean off the outdoor furniture.
My sister did everything from finding long lost and forgotten cowboy boots to falling hard for Washington.
Play and Eat
Happy Birthday morning wake-up serenade.
Day 45 was the Still Vertical 4 / Pup-nic. What was to be an intimate dinner birthday celebration and puppy socialization event took on a life of it's own. We had over 150 guests.
The Pup-corral was a happening place.
 Puppy love for everyone.
Of course Trask got in to the action.
The puppies entertained guests when not being held.
K. still trying to make her choice of which puppy to take home. All were vying for the opportunity.
The big dogs were primarily interested in any dropped bits of food.
We have so many wonderful friends.
Who is more party weary, Dustin or Treadwell?
Both K. and...
 A. have convinced their parents that Wind will be their forever dog.
Yup - mom likes Wind too.
This was a wonderful event. Along with sharing friendship and puppy socialization, a spontaneous donation jar raised $108, which we matched, for the AKC Hurricane Harvey Reunite Disaster Relief Fund. The huge quilt behind us is made up of squares arranged for and sewn together by friends. Each square is a unique sharing of love and friendship.
Crash
The day started with the-blue-screen-of-death. My computer would not work. After three frustrating hours, I got it to accept Safe Mode and I crashed...only to be awakened by a distinctive crash. There was a used fork in the bottom of the can/bottle recycle-trashcan and the dogs found it. All of the other garbage was safely locked out of dog reach. Now the cans and bottles have joined the garbage storage space.
Crash was also what the tired puppies did most of the day. It was so smoky at times you could not see 100' and the temperature was in the high 90s. The amber light in these pictures is from the sun shining through thick smoke. The puppies and I stayed inside horizontal until dinner when I took them out to eat while I changed the whelping box linens and papers.
Now that the computer has cooperated enough for me to blog, I am going to hit post and again crash.
