This litter of puppies have been strong and determined Houdinis right from birth. A 12 " deep warming box could not contain them Karuk made his entrance into the world by escaping the womb as we drove home from the vet.
I put the wayward pups back and immediately witnessed Wy'east, Loowit and Koma storm in-mass the fence at another location. They had discovered that duct tape was no match for their combined weight slamming into the fence.
When Dave came home from work, they again found a weak spot and ran to greet him and then kept running in 8 different directions. Some headed up the stairs into the house. Others checked out the as yet unexplored front yard. Some really fast ones made it all the way across the drive to the large pond. While he corralled puppies, I grabbed all x-pens and made a new, quite a bit smaller, but more secure, play yard...
where the pups ate dinner,...
resumed play until time to head indoors for the night...
to their now quite crowded quarters which will only need to hold in the Houdinis for a couple more nights until they haead for their forever homes and new places to escape from.
