Just after the wind had blown away the clouds and smoke, the Harrisons came back for another visit. They helped me take the Milestone Portraits by wearing the puppies out first; transporting them inside to the photo-shoot; positioning the puppies in front of the posters; removing curious Trask, Cedar and Koyuk from in front of the camera and; doing mad saves as puppies dashed headfirst off the fireplace mantle used as a platform and backdrop.
Five people, 6 puppies and two dogs - the Pup-pen is starting to get a bit small. I am hoping to score some fencing used to keep out eclipse trespassers to make a large Pup-yard.
The Harrisons also came bearing lunch which we got to share at the Pup-cafe after the puppies had eaten their gruel lunch. While we ate, Kima, their other Chinook pup came out to play with Trask and meet her new step sister.
Kima with Kate outside the Pup-pen.
Playing with Trask was much more appealing. First getting-to-know-you. Then Chinook tag...
then Chinookaroo.
Trask showed her his swim hole.
Later Kima and Kate had self initiated, one-on-one time together.
If possible, I always try to let the puppies pick their forever family. Kate definitely has a connection with Kima and her family.
The puppies put a new meaning to "lean on me" during dinner.
I just can't take too many pictures of puppies eating. Their slip-sliding around the trough and positioning for a bit more food is hilarious.
Must be a good morsel.
or maybe this is the one.
Treadwell is going to be a big boy.
Tonight all are sleeping in the condo bedroom and amazingly racing to the potty paper end as needed (says one proud breeder). Now if only they would sleep all night or Koyuk would consent to provide the 3 a.m. meal.
