Ms Silver Joined the Family

When Koyuk stuck her head out from under the whelping box covers this morning, little did she know her life was about to change.
Little Moonsong Silver was the only surviving pup in her litter and her mom is very ill. Pups really need the socialization they get from peers in the whelping box. A singleton starts it's life at a canine disadvantage so 5 day old, lonely, Ms Silver was brought down from Seattle today to join Koyuk's litter for the next 7 weeks.
There is always the concern that the surrogate mother will reject a strange pup. Koyuk was curious and knew something was up but allowed her to nurse right away. Ms Silver was quite hungry after her long ride.
Though smaller, Ms Silver fits right in.
After a brief nap, it was time to eat again.
Navy Boy and Mr. Red keeping Ms Silver comfortable.
 Taking turns.
After everyone settled in and Koyuk was comfortable, puppy transport team Marleen and Pat got to hold the squirrely little ones (with Cedar and Koyuk supervision).
